Back in the 80’s our live performances were considered to be quite the hot ticket, dynamic, tight and a little bit crazed (much like ourselves at the time…)
Our writing and sound was a melange of Post Punk Angst, Dystopian Futures, Pulp Science Fiction and Nursery Rhyme Sensibility (dark mode) filtered through a self-aware dollop of nonsense with an undercurrent of chilling menace when required.
Scrubbing through our timeline at this point would show a hard gigging live combo on the university circuit, clandestine recording sessions, Polydor recording contract, support tours, TV, plaudits, opprobrium, brickbats and bouquets in no particular order.
Looking back on those times we realise that we had the good fortune to meet and be aided by many mentors and inspiring like-minded people, many of whom we are still privileged to call friends (although we also ran into a select few individuals who were, quite frankly, a sheer waste of DNA)
Fast forward to 2020 where a post pandemic ‘curry and a catch up’ swiftly spiralled out of hand and into a nostalgia-fest of inflated proportions at which point a cunning plan was hatched to perform a few live events to fund the re-recording of our 80’s back catalogue for vinyl release (and posterity of course,,,)
What initially set out as a softly, softly style proposal over dinner between consenting adults was soon pounced on by the all-seeing eye of content-hungry Social Media which lead quite rapidly to an offer we couldn’t refuse from the guys at Wrecking Ball Arts Centre who were
in the process of setting up their new in-house record label.
A limited edition double vinyl album was released on Wrecking Ball Sounds in 2022.
Mission accomplished.
But why stop there?
We found that we still had the will, focus and the enjoyment to continue writing and recording, so in January 2024 with that in mind we rocked up at Shroom Studios in Hornsea and started on our latest album.
Months of work later and the tracks are sent over to Jess Sutcliffe at The Viscounts in California to be liberally anointed with magical producer dust.
It’s ready.
